Pervis Estupinan is likely to miss the next run of Milan fixtures after suffering an injury to his knee while away on international duty with Ecuador, the latest reports confirm.
Report: Estupinan could miss several weeks after Ecuador injury
The Rossoneri wing-back was not involved with the Ecuador matchday squad for their recent 1-1 friendly draw with Panama, played in the early hours of Monday morning (European time).
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Estupinan did not take part in Ecuador’s final training session the day before their game against Panama either.

It is believed that he has suffered a sprain to his knee, although he will have to report for further, in-depth tests upon his Milan to get to the bottom of the precise extent of the injury.
Calciomercato predicts that the former Brighton man will be unavailable for several weeks, which means that he is almost certain to miss out on Milan’s first game back from the international break against Sassuolo on Sunday at the least. Ruben Amorim’s side also have upcoming fixtures against RB Salzburg in the Europa League on October 15, against Atalanta on October 18 and against AFC Bournemouth on October 22.

Estupinan has started in four of Milan’s five Serie A matches at the start of the 2026-27 season.
If he is ruled out for the next few weeks, it could mean a return to the starting line-up for academy graduate Davide Bartesaghi. If not, summer signing Sankhoun Diawara could be deployed on the left of a back four, the system Amorim used in Milan’s most recent game against Lecce.
