Actress links threat to her testifying about Tangmo's death

Actress Usamanee “Kwan” Waitayanon has told police she was threatened on Sunday morning, saying it might be related to her decision to give witness testimony in the death of actress Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong, who fell from a speedboat on the Chao Phraya River in 2022.

Ms Usamanee filed her complaint at Lumpini police station. She said three strange men came near her during an exercise session with her Uzi Club fans at Benjakitti Park in Bangkok's Klong Toey district 

About 9am one of the strangers came closef, pointed to her and told her she would change her words in three months.

Ms Usamanee said the man repeated the same sentence about seven times, then mentioned the name of a former deputy prime minister and told her to phone that person.

As other people noticed the man's approach and began questioning the intentions of the three men, they quickly left, the actress said.

She said the incident frightened her.

“This threat frightens me. This crosses the line. Although I am afraid, I won’t stop doing what I think is right. I will reveal information about Tangmo, to present facts to society,” Ms Usamanee said.

Ms Usamanee was recently introduced as a witness by a party who did not believe Tangmo fell from the speedboat herself.

Tangmo, 37,  fell from a speedboat on the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi on Feb 24, 2022 after a night partying with friends. Her body was found two days later.
