The Manila North Cemetery has recorded 1,096,200 visitors as of 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, according to the Manila Police District (MPD).

In a Super Radyo dzBB report by Christian Maño, the cemetery administrator said the number of visitors was expected to increase further toward the evening after light rains stopped and temperatures cooled.

The MPD said the situation at the Manila North Cemetery remained peaceful, with no untoward incidents reported so far. Authorities also noted a decrease in the number of prohibited items confiscated at the cemetery's entrances.

However, four children were briefly reported missing earlier in the day.

In earlier reports, authorities said they had confiscated various prohibited items at the cemetery's entry points, including broomsticks, cigarettes, flammable materials, sharp objects and umbrellas.

Umbrellas are prohibited inside the cemetery to prevent inconvenience and congestion along crowded walkways.

To assist visitors, the Manila North Cemetery administration rolled out a "puntod finder" system to help families locate the graves of their departed loved ones.

The Manila Public Information Office earlier issued a traffic advisory detailing road closures and rerouting schemes around the cemetery. The measures will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on November 1.— MCG, GMA News
