DJ Parok Mangudadatu's overwhelming lead is not just win for his clan but also for the Macacua-led Bangsamoro Federalist Party in Maguindanao del Sur

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – DJ Parok Mangudadatu, the nephew of Maguindanao del Sur Representative Esmael Mangudadatu, is currently at the top of the electoral race for the Bangsamoro parliamentary seat of the province’s 4th District.

The younger Mangudadatu, a former Maguindanao provincial board member, has obtained 62,818 votes, with 91.75% precincts reporting as of September 14, 9:44 pm. This dwarfs the 3,826 votes of his opponent, Aladen Katog Delna, a former barangay chairman of Upper D’lag in Pandag.

Mangudadatu ran under the Bangsamoro Federalist Party, the party led by Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” Macacua.

Delna ran as a candidate of the Bangsamoro Party, which is affiliated with the Moro National Liberation Front, and is led by Bangsamoro Minister for Labor and Employment Muslimin Sema.

Mangudadatu is the son of Buluan Mayor Ibrahim Mangudadatu and the brother of Buluan Councilor Baby Dhats Mangudadatu. His father is the brother of Esmael Mangudadatu. – Rappler.com
