EU demands AI companies prove safety compliance in order to operate in region
The European Union is in favor of developing innovation in artificial intelligence, but companies have to prove their services are safe for citizens to operate in the bloc, EU Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier said on Monday.
The debate about AI was thrust back into the spotlight after the chief executive of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, said on Saturday that companies must slow the pace of advancement of AI models.
