Coronation Street airs explosive Platt showdown as character is shot in early ITVX release

A dramatic showdown at No. 8 Coronation Street has seen one member of the Platt clan shot.
Jodie Ramsey's (Olivia Frances Brown) downfall has finally arrived, which is quite surprising given the actress has just signed on the dotted line to appear on the cobbles for another year.
Just where she'll find herself in the drama moving forward remains to be seen.
But, for now, her sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) and brother-in-law David (Jack P. Shepherd) have been left with a multitude of questions about her behaviour this year. For months, she's orchestrated a vile plot to sink her claws into David and gain the happy life she's always craved.
Her bizarre moves have included trying to seduce him, cutting Shona's face out of their wedding photo, and convincing her sibling that she's suffering from some sort of psychosis by playing a recording of baby Harper whenever she was alone.

She's also collected a series of random objects in her trinket box – including a gun that was once in Carl Webster's (Jonathan Howard) possession.
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) discovered the truth about the recording of Harper, and although Jodie also had audio footage of her confessing to a one night stand with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), she risked everything to tell Shona.
In today's episode, Jodie played a doting housewife, creating a lavish breakfast for David while he was out walking the family dog. Upon his return, he was stunned to see the effort that she'd gone to in Shona's absence.
As viewers saw this week, Shona has moved out of her home and into the Chariot Square Hotel, believing that step-daughter Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) was the one who orchestrated the Harper incident on her.
Bethany wasn't far behind David and urged her uncle to call his wife. He seemed oblivious to what was going on, but later followed her demands...
Outside in the garden, after eating a lavish steak meal that Jodie had prepared, David was questioned about the last time that he'd felt love from Shona. He said that it'd been a while, and that the last instance was actually when he mistakenly kissed Jodie during her botched attempt to seduce him.

With a smile on her face, she suggested that they could explore a life together and that she could be a good mother to his children.
As she moved in for a kiss, Shona barged through the door. She'd heard everything through David's phone.
Jodie tried to tearfully explain her actions, while David stepped away and went to pack her belongings. He brought downstairs the trinket box, and questioned why she'd taken a photograph of Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), Lisa Connor-Swain's (Vicky Myers) police badge and his watch.

He then found the gun.
Jodie claimed that it was a replica, though when Shona tried to take it off her, a struggle ensued. The gun fired – and Jodie had been shot in her stomach.
She collapsed on the sofa, with David and Shona standing awkwardly above her.
Will Jodie be OK, and where will she fit into Weatherfield life after this incident?
