Paul Bettany’s Vision is receiving an exciting new update in Marvel Studios’ newest Disney+ miniseries, VisionQuest.
Since Vision’s introduction in 2015, the advanced humanoid android has worn the same integrated bodysuit throughout Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and WandaVision. Bettany’s iconic suit is a mix of deep teal-green and dark maroon color schemes accented by a yellow-gold cape. Now, Vision fans, who have been waiting for the character’s long-overdue costume update, will be pleased to know that the superhero is indeed getting a costume redesign in VisionQuest.
Marvel Studios has confirmed the superhero's costume redesign through a newly released promo video, featuring a new look at the new Disney+ show. In the video, Bettany offers fans a recap of his character’s evolution in the MCU, spanning from the time Ultron, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner created him up until his final moments with Wanda in WandaVision. Towards the end, the video teases a glimpse of Vision and Ultron’s fight sequence, showing off a new look at his updated emerald and gold costume.
VisionQuest takes place after the acclaimed 2021 miniseries, following White Vision’s journey into understanding who he really is. In the trailers, it was revealed that White Vision created a Mindspace mansion within his own mind, where he lives with the other avatar versions of Stark’s AI assistants in the MCU, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and Ultron. This version was built by the government, which used Vision’s corpse from Infinity War and Wanda’s chaos magic to revive the hero as their own personal weapon. He was last seen flying away from Westview after Hex Vision successfully unlocked the original Vision’s memories from within him.
VisionQuest hails from showrunner Terry Matalas, who’s best known for his work on Star Trek: Picard. Bettany will be joined by James Spader as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H. from Spider-Man: Far From Home, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, and Todd Stashwick as Paladin. The new limited drama will serve as the final chapter in the MCU’s Westview trilogy, which began with WandaVision and continued through 2024’s Agatha All Along.
Bettany joined the MCU in 2008, when he was cast to voice Tony's advanced A.I. assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. Afterwards, he continued voicing the character in four more movies, including Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In 2015, the Emmy-nominated actor finally made his live-action MCU debut as Vision, which saw Bettany leave the recording booth to undergo a meticulous transformation process to embody the hero. With Vision’s Mindstone powers, iconic one-liners, and romance with Wanda, Bettany ultimately became a fan favorite.
Besides VisionQuest, Marvel Studios is also currently preparing for the highly anticipated debut of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026. For now, it remains unknown whether the miniseries will have any connection to the upcoming Avengers movies. After VisionQuest, the third and final season of Daredevil: Born Again is the only live-action MCU series the studios have lined up so far, following the surprising cancellation of Wonder Man.
VisionQuest is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, on Disney+, with the first two episodes. It will then be followed by a weekly episode drop.
