Euromatch NPFL: ‘We Will Weed Out Soft Players’ — Inter Lagos Interim Coach Promises Ruthless Overhaul

Translate

Inter Lagos interim head coach Olusanjo Olutayo has vowed to make sweeping changes to his squad as he attempts to turn around the club’s disastrous maiden campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Lagos-based outfit has endured a grueling start to life in the top flight, managing just a single victory so far this season. Sitting firmly at the bottom of the NPFL table with a meager six points, Inter Lagos are currently mired in a seven-match winless streak.

Taking a firm stance on the squad’s underperformance, Olutayo made it clear that he will demand relentless intensity and mental fortitude from his players moving forward, warning that timid attitudes will no longer be tolerated.

Reacting to the development, the interim manager issued a blunt message regarding player selection.

“I don’t like players who are scared. If I have cowards in my team, which I think we don’t, but if we do, we will weed them out,” Olutayo stated.

“We will weed out cowards, soft players, and players who can’t recollect information from the team.”

Olutayo emphasized that surviving in Nigeria’s elite division requires players who can process tactical instructions under immense pressure.

“The NPFL is the highest level of league football here, and I will work with players who can manage information; but if there isn’t any here, there will be an issue,” he concluded.
