Manchester United’s (MUFC) manager carousel seems set to continue after Wednesday’s loss to Como in the UEFA Champions League. Michael Carrick joined Man United as an interim manager in January 2026 after the club had struggled with previous manager Ruben Amorim at the helm.

Carrick quickly turned things around for the Red Devils, winning back-to-back games against Arsenal and Manchester City and taking the club to third in the standings by the end of the season.

However, with limited spending in the summer transfer window and higher expectations heading into the 2026/27 season, United has started poorly. After 11 matches, the team has only won two of them, against Ipswich in the Premier League and Sabah in the Champions League, putting pressure on Carrick to deliver or face the sack.

If the former United midfielder is shown the door, he would become one of the several managers to be sacked since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, having guided the team to the 2012-13 Premier League title.
