Coronation Street and Emmerdale aren't on tonight - here's when they return

ITV viewers will be facing another disruption to their evening, as neither Coronation Street nor Emmerdale will be on air tonight. The soaps have once again been pushed from the schedule, this time to make space for a sporting event.
The shake-up will see the Carabao Cup taking precedence on our screens as the channel broadcasts the Manchester United Vs Brighton & Hove Albion football game.

The match will air between 7.30 and 10.25pm, with kick off at 8pm. Not only is the live soap broadcast affected, but the episodes also won't be available to stream on ITVX or YouTube.
If you're still on the edge of your seat from Tuesday's dramatic soap instalments, then don't worry, as both shows will resume tomorrow (17 September). Upcoming episodes of Corrie see Jodie Ramsey continuing her cruel scheme against her sister Shona Platt, as she appears to be trying to take over her life.
Viewers know that Jodie has had it out for Shona since her arrival, after feeling abandoned by her big sister as a child. The newcomer has been cosying up to her brother-in-law David and niece Lily, while sneakily causing rifts between the family.
In recent episodes, Jodie took her scheming to the next level, as she preyed on Shona's exhaustion as a new mother. She turned the oven on while Shona was napping, with the latter believing she had almost started a fire in the house.

However, last night's episode saw her plan backfire, as she poured boiling water into baby Harper's bath. While horrified Shona again assumed responsibility, David was full of compassion for his wife and determined that she needed a break.
Meanwhile, over in the Dales this week, Jacob Sugden's life was turned upside down when Sarah finally revealed the truth about their baby Leyla's parentage. Sarah also shared the events of Dr Todd's demise, leaving Jacob reeling.
Last night, Sarah returned home to find her husband and baby had gone missing from the house and was terrified that they'd run away. But Jacob ultimately returned, having had a long think about his future. Will he decide to give Sarah another chance?
