Star Trek: Warp Is Officially Bringing Together Multiple Eras

It was back on 8 September that the Star Trek universe celebrated its 60th anniversary, with the original series debuting on NBC this time in 1966. With special screenings, commemorative collectibles and television specials taking place in order to celebrate six decades of the iconic sci-fi show, Trekkies are coming together to honor its legacy, and it seems as though gamers will also get to join in on the fun.

Steam Is Celebrating 60 Years of Star Trek

Running from 8-22 September, Steam is hosting its Star Trek 60 event which, as you can probably expect, highlights all of the Star Trek-related games that have launched over the years. Featuring discounts, demos, and even limited free-to-play titles, PC gamers will not want to miss out on this event, especially as one release is set to bring together multiple Star Trek eras in one stunning trading card game.

It may not yet have a release window, but Star Trek: Warp has already captured the eye of many Trekkies, with the upcoming title promising the ability to unlock iconic characters, ships, and locations, all whilst earning legendary cards "worthy of any captain's deck."

Developed by Monumental, Star Trek: Warp is "a card battler that combines deep gameplay, unique mechanics, and the joy of collecting and customizing powerful decks that feature characters and ships from across the Star Trek universe." As such, players will get to choose characters from a large roster, including heroes and villains, and deploy them to memorable locations across the galaxy, including the likes of Ten-Forward and the Warp Core.

As you control legendary ships such as U.S.S. Enterprise and I.K.S. Borta, you will need to keep an eye on your health, deck size, and abilities, but most importantly, it will be your deck which will determine whether you succeed on your various missions.

Two-dimensional thinking won’t cut it. Star Trek: Warp adds a spatial strategy layer with seven lanes that force you to think tactically about positioning, timing, and when to unleash your ship's abilities.

With hundreds of cards available to sort through, Star Trek: Warp will offer endless combinations to experiment with, with each offering their own unique attributes and abilities.

As turns progress, you will add more cards to your deck, but with both PvE and PvP content to get stuck into, it will be more than your ship's health that you will need to worry about as you go head-to-head with fellow Trekkies.
