LAURA CRAIK: Jennifer Lopez lives la dolce vita on Vogue's Milanese catwalk

Twirling down the catwalk in a 1950s-style black lace Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress, Jennifer Lopez looked every inch the Italian bombshell.
She was among an impressive list of A-list attendees to Vogue World, the annual extravaganza designed to showcase the creativity of fashion's most feted designers, which took place in Milan on Tuesday night.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid opened the half-hour show in a haute couture Valentino gown that took 1,680 hours to make, followed by an array of looks from Italy's famous designers: Armani, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Fendi and many more.
While Ms Lopez, 57, Helena Christensen, 57, and Iris Law, 25, walked the runway through the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a stunning arcade at the heart of the city, VIPs in the audience included Naomi Campbell, 56, in a Matieres Fecales tweed suit, Dakota Johnson, 36, who wore a black Valentino ensemble and Pamela Anderson, 59, in a gold Ferragamo gown.
'This extraordinary event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the timeless story of Made in Italy, a story of genius and craftsmanship,' Francesca Ragazzi, Vogue Italia's head of editorial content, said in a statement.
'It feels particularly meaningful to do so at this moment in time, in the era of artificial intelligence.'

It's a sentiment with which few fashion lovers could disagree. So it was somewhat surprising that the models shared the catwalk with four humanoid robots.
'They're not even wearing clothes,' one viewer commented on social media.
Perhaps that was why designers Miuccia Prada and Alessandro Michele, creative director of Valentino, didn't clap.
But the controversy didn't end there. One of the event's main sponsors was Eli Lilly, the US pharmaceutical giant famous for manufacturing one of the world's most successful fat jabs, Mounjaro.
In fashion, trends will come and go, but thinness is a look that will seemingly never go out of style.
