Taylor Sheridan is returning to the criminal underworld for Sicario 3.
The Denis Villeneuve-helmed crime thriller memorably marked Sheridan's first venture into the world of writing after getting his start as an actor with everything from Sons of Anarchy to Veronica Mars. After securing multiple Oscar nods and a solid box office haul, Sheridan would return with Sicario: Day of the Soldado, focused on Benicio Del Toro's eponymous assassin character being recruited for a new CIA mission, which was enough of a critical and commercial success to spark development on a third film.
Now, after years of development, a new report from Variety has confirmed that Sheridan is officially involved in putting Sicario 3 together. Stemming from a report about how NBCUniversal won Sheridan out from his Paramount deal by focusing on films, it was stated that the multihyphenate wrote the scripts for both Paramount's Call of Duty adaptation and the long-gestating Sicario 3.
