Heckler accuses Isaac Amit of 'not being worthy' of laying wreath at Oct. 7 memorial ceremony

An attendee of the October 7 national memorial ceremony accused Supreme Court President Isaac Amit of "not being worthy" of laying a remembrance wreath, according to footage of the event shared by Israeli media on Monday.
Amit laid a wreath at the memorial site on Mount Herzl alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several others.
President Isaac Herzog, Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, Israel Police Commissioner Daniel Levy, Shin Bet chief David Zini, and Mossad chief Roman Gofman also attended the event.
In addition to the two state ceremonies, dozens of other ceremonies, rallies, testimony sessions, and memorial events will take place nationwide.
Flags lowered to half-mast
Memorial Day for October 7 was established by law to take place on Tishrei 24, two days after the Simchat Torah holiday. This year, it falls on October 5, two days before the Gregorian anniversary of the attack.
Throughout the day, flags will be lowered to half-mast at state institutions, police stations, prisons, and IDF bases, while radio and television broadcasts will be adjusted to reflect the nature of the day.
It will remain a regular workday, not a public holiday, and no nationwide siren is expected to sound.
