Watch ‘SNL UK’ turn Oasis into Russian spies in Andy Burnham sketch
Saturday Night Live UK has spoofed Oasis as a pair of Russian spies attempting to steal Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s personal details – watch the sketch below.
The sketch opened last night’s (September 26) episode, which was hosted by Amelia Dimoldenberg, and saw George Fouracres play Burnham inside his new Number 10 North office in Manchester.
After returning from his appearance at the UN General Assembly in New York, where Burnham had spoken about Russian disinformation and cyber attacks, the fictional Prime Minister was meeting Angela Rayner, played by Celeste Dring.
Rayner then informed him that some “local lads” had arrived to see him, prompting Liam and Noel Gallagher to enter, played by new cast member Freddie Meredith and Jack Shep respectively.

Fouracres’ Burnham immediately declared himself a huge Oasis fan, before the Gallaghers presented him with tickets to one of the band’s forthcoming Etihad Stadium shows.
The sketch also slipped in a reference to the brothers’ beloved Manchester City being reportedly found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League, joking that the Etihad might be “repossessed” before Oasis get there.
The fake Gallaghers then revealed that they needed a guitarist for the show and asked Burnham – who is known to play guitar – if he knew anyone suitable.
Burnham immediately volunteered himself and abandoned his meeting, before being told he first had to register his details online.
As he entered increasingly sensitive information including his password, National Insurance number and the name of his first pet, the lights changed and the supposed Gallagher brothers dropped their Mancunian accents to reveal themselves as Russian agents.
“Oasis has always been Russian pop. All songs were made in a lab by Kremlin scientists,” the fake Liam claimed.
He then joked: “‘Wonderwall’ is really ‘Wonderful Wall’ about the Berlin Wall.”
The sketch concluded with Burnham denouncing his would-be hackers before telling the “Russian Mancs” to leave the country and “go back to being Oasis”.
The Oasis parody comes at an especially busy moment for the reunited Manchester band.
Tickets are currently going on sale across staggered windows for their enormous ‘Live ’27’ tour, with fans reporting a considerably smoother experience than during the notorious first ‘Live ’25’ ticket sale.
The tour includes an 11-night run at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, alongside five dates at Glasgow’s Celtic Park, shows in mainland Europe and the US, two nights at Slane Castle and four concerts at Knebworth.
Extra dates in Knebworth, Munich and Rome were added last week due to “phenomenal demand”.
Noel has said the new tour will be “so much better” than the band’s 2025 reunion run, while Liam has warned that although it is not officially a farewell tour, “it still could be our last”.
The Gallaghers’ reunion was also recently chronicled in the documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, which NME awarded four-and-a-half stars.
