Venkat Prabhu puts Sivakarthikeyan rift rumours to rest

Director Venkat Prabhu has responded to speculation about a fallout with Sivakarthikeyan, following remarks made by his father and veteran filmmaker Gangai Amaren about an unnamed actor and the delay of Venkat Prabhu’s next project.

The comments triggered discussions among fans, with many connecting them to the filmmaker’s previously announced collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan.

Venkat has now sought to put an end to the speculation, making it clear that there are no hard feelings between the two.

Venkat Prabhu says Sivakarthikeyan is ‘always a dear friend/brother’

Addressing the rumours, Venkat Prabhu described Sivakarthikeyan as someone who remains close to him and explained why Gangai Amaren may have expressed frustration.

“SK is always a dear friend/brother to me. A lot of speculations and controversies are going around. As a father, when a film involving your own son gets delayed, the frustration is natural. He probably doesn’t know the complete picture, and I can’t blame him for that,” Venkat Prabhu wrote on his social media.

He added that he usually keeps his professional matters private and does not discuss them in detail with others, including his father.

Venkat also addressed the status of his proposed film with Sivakarthikeyan and said several factors were behind it not taking off. “I’m a very quiet person when it comes to my work and don’t discuss my professional matters in detail with anyone, including him. The project couldn’t take off due to various reasons. That’s it. No hard feelings,” he said. The clarification comes after Gangai Amaren’s recent remarks were widely linked to the shelved project.

However, Venkat Prabhu has not blamed Sivakarthikeyan for the film not materialising.

Venkat Prabhu says he would work with SK again

The filmmaker further made it clear that the door remains open for another collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan. “If the time comes and a good script comes my way, I would love to work with SK again. So please, let’s put a full stop to all this. I’m busy with my next,” he said. He also ended his message on a positive note by wishing Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Seyon well. Venkat Prabhu and Sivakarthikeyan were earlier expected to collaborate after ‘GOAT,’ but the project eventually did not materialise.

With Venkat now directly addressing the speculation, he appears keen to move the conversation away from the reported fallout and focus on his upcoming work.
