Prequel series NCIS: Origins is continuing to provide some major reunions for fans of the original show, as Mark Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs is set to run in to an old friend.

It has been confirmed that Emily Wickersham will guest star as her character Eleanor 'Ellie' Bishop in multiple episodes of NCIS: Origins season 3, first appearing in episode 4, titled Shimmy Shimmy Ya.

The present day storyline in the episode will see Gibbs return to a place full of memories and discover he’s not alone. Meanwhile, Bishop is enlisted by new director Tony DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, to help Gibbs on his quest to track down the unknown assailants who tried to kill him.

Wickersham previously played Bishop on NCIS between season 11 and season 18, leaving the show in 2021. She most recently reappeared on that show for a guest appearance in season 23.

This season also sees a reunion between Harmon and Weatherly, with the latter having recently been seen leading his own spin-off for one season, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Weatherly will also be returning to the main series.

Teasing his return to that series, Weatherly previously said: "I just know that it's going to be an exciting return. I have really enjoyed watching what the show has done over the last 10 years since I left, but it's a different show now.

"So I'm very much about respecting the show I'm coming into and being aware that they've built an extraordinarily successful tenure... but that doesn't mean that what we did isn't going to be able to live alongside and inside that show."
