Heather Morris & Chord Overstreet In Talks To Return For ‘Glee’ Reboot

Two more original Glee cast members are eyeing a return for the Disney+/Hulu reboot. Heather Morris, who portrayed ditzy, high-spirited cheerleader Brittany, and Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans in the original series are in talks to return for the reboot, sources have confirmed to Deadline.
Overstreet’s Sam Evans was a transfer student to William McKinley High School, who joined the football team and the school’s glee club, New Directions.
They join Lea Michele, who we reported Wednesday is in talks to reprise her Rachel Berry character from the OG.
Disney+ and Hulu announced a series order for the reboot earlier this week.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy said last month that he had been in touch with “around 10 of the original cast members” of the show, though no casting was announced as part of the series order.
The original Glee cast included Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale and Matthew Morrison as well as Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, the late Naya Rivera and Darren Criss.
Set at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio, Glee followed the members of the New Directions, a glee club competing in the show choir circuit, while dealing with social issues. Each episode featured a musical performance.
The reboot hails from original show producer 20th Television.
The original Glee, created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, aired for six seasons from 2009-2015, on Fox. It won six Emmys, including for Murphy and Lynch as well as guest stars such as Neil Patrick Harris and Gwyneth Paltrow, and currently streams on Hulu.
