Nigerian lecturer bags award in Canada

A Canada-based Nigerian scholar, Dr Ademola Adesola, has been conferred with the President’s Community Connections Award in Canada.

He was one of the two recipients of the 2026 Mount Royal University award for making significant contributions to building and strengthening relationships between Mount Royal and the surrounding community.

Adesola made this known in a post on his LinkedIn page and a statement made available to Diaspora Tales on Thursday.

He said, “The award celebrates individuals who actively foster collaboration, partnerships and programmes that enhance Mount Royal’s role as a positive force in the community.”

Adesola said the recipients of the award exemplified the values of service, engagement and commitment to social responsibility by making an impact both on campus and in the wider society.

“My initiation and convening of the African and Black Writings in Canada Speaker Series annually stands out as one of the undertakings that The President’s Community Connections Award celebrates,” he added.
