He died on Thursday, October 8, 2026, ending a career of nearly five decades. The actor started his career with Gaman and was last seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s O Romeo. He was called the Nat Samrat, after a Marathi film of the same name won him accolades!

Reports suggest that the actor has been complaining of a headache since last night! In the morning, he was found unresponsive at his Goa residence and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors tried to revive him for 45 minutes before declaring him dead. The actor suffered a cardiac arrest and was declared dead at 5.20 AM on October 8, 2026.

The Housefull 5 actor, who turned Uday Bhai after his appearance in the Welcome franchise, won his first National Award in 1989 for Parinda. It was the Best Actor In A Supporting Role. He also bagged a National Award in the same category for Agni Sakshi in 1997. In 1995, the actor won a National Award for Best Actor for Krantiveer. In 2017, he won the Filmfare Marathi Award for Best Actor for Natsamrat. His last award was for the Best Villain in Rajinikanth’s Kaala.
