Kogi @35: Anyebe urges youths to uphold unity, patriotism

Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, has urged youths across the state to remain united, patriotic and committed to the collective development of Kogi State as the state commemorates its 35th anniversary.

Anyebe made the call in a goodwill message marking the 35th anniversary of the creation of Kogi State, describing the milestone as an important moment to reflect on the journey of the state, its achievements, challenges and aspirations for the future.

The Commissioner noted that the anniversary was not only a celebration of Kogi’s identity, cultural diversity and resilience, but also an opportunity to acknowledge the vision of the founding fathers and the contributions of successive administrations, traditional institutions, communities and citizens to the growth of the state.

According to him, the future of Kogi depends largely on the ability of its citizens, particularly its young population, to work together, embrace peace and channel their energy and talents towards productive endeavours.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the government to creating an enabling environment for young people to thrive through empowerment initiatives, skills development, sports and other opportunities that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the state.

Anyebe also commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his administration’s focus on youth empowerment, peace, security and inclusive development, noting that sustained investment in young people remained critical to building a stronger and more prosperous Kogi.

“As Kogi State marks 35 years, I call on all citizens, especially our vibrant youth, to remain united, patriotic and committed to the collective advancement of our dear state. The future we desire for Kogi can only be achieved when we all take responsibility for its progress,” Anyebe said.

The Commissioner congratulated the government and people of Kogi State on the anniversary and expressed optimism that the state would continue to make progress, while building a future anchored on peace, unity, opportunity and shared prosperity.
