Man killed, body severed in suspected Lagos cult attack
A man identified simply as Biola has been killed by suspected cultists in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt from a police source on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Sunday in the DKK area of the community.
The source said the victim’s left hand was also severed during the attack.
“We received a report on Sunday that a suspected cult attack led to the death of the young man. Our officers were deployed to the spot, and his remains were found by the roadside with gunshot wounds to his neck and machete cuts to other parts of his body,” the source said.
The source added that the victim’s remains were evacuated and deposited at a morgue.
Meanwhile, a video seen by PUNCH Metro on Tuesday and shared by Naija Confra showed Biola interacting with some unidentified men shortly before his death.
The platform alleged that Biola identified himself as a member of the Eiye confraternity to suspected rival cultists who might have disguised themselves as members of the same group.
The platform further alleged that the victim was shot and killed by the men, who subsequently mutilated his body before fleeing the scene after being confronted by a crowd.

It said, “Eyewitnesses reported that after some boys shot and killed him, the attackers cut off his hand and attempted to remove his leg and eyes in broad daylight. However, due to the crowd in the area, they changed their minds and left the scene.”
When contacted on Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said she was not aware of the incident but promised to revert.
The incident came days after PUNCH Metro reported the killing of a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, identified as Kamoru Omokoye, by suspected cultists at Abijo Bus Stop in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.
Omokoye was reportedly attacked and shot in the head by the assailants on Sunday morning.
It was gathered that the suspects arrived at the bus stop in an unregistered Lexus RX 350 before attacking the victim.
