Chero Archers registered a clean sweep against Kakatiya Knights in Sunday’s opening clash of Archery Premier League season 2 at People’s Plaza. A third win in four matches helped it take the top spot in the standings.
The first set was neck-and-neck before Elia Canales shot a 7 to give Archers the advantage. While Casey Kaufhold could only manage a 6, her team had enough in the bank already to take the lead in the contest.
Atanu Das led Archers’ charge in the second set before the third turned into a nail-biter. Atanu and Casey then bagged 10s, putting Knights under pressure they couldn’t sustain, going down 6-0.
Later, Gatha Anandrao Khadake came up with some clutch arrows under pressure to help Prithviraj Yodhas beat Chola Chiefs 6-2. Her 10 at the end of the third set was crucial to give her side a 77-76 scoreline, before Chiefs faltered in the decider.
The final match of the day was a close affair. Kushal Dalal, picked ahead of Ojas Pravin Deotale, gave Rajputana Royals a good start, while Mete Gazoz anchored them with a high-pressure 10.
