Sections of the Juventus supporters turned on each other and were filmed fighting in the stands during Sunday night’s 3-0 Serie A loss at home against Lazio, causing a temporary delay to proceedings in the first half with Douglas Luiz attempting to play the peacemaker.

The atmosphere around Juventus was rotten by the end of Sunday evening, following a 3-0 defeat against Lazio that was described as ‘humiliating’ in Monday morning’s newspapers. Juventus are one point worse off than they were under Igor Tudor at the same stage of last season and many fans are now calling for Antonio Conte to return as the replacement for Luciano Spalletti.

Though many fans had decided to leave the stadium before the full-time whistle on Sunday evening, lots stayed behind to loudly boo the players as they approached the stands to thank the supporters. Video footage has emerged on social media of one supporter deciding to burn his scarf as the players applauded the supporters after full-time.

There was also an incident around a quarter of an hour into Juve’s 3-0 loss against Lazio, causing play to temporarily be suspended. Several fans were filmed fighting each other in the stands, requiring several security personnel to intervene before referee Davide Massa blew his whistle to stop play for the situation to be sorted out.

Douglas Luiz can be seen approaching the Juventus fans and yelling at them in a plea to stop. Weston McKennie was also seen gesturing to the supporters on the touchline.
