Nick Cannon Inks Deal for BET Late Night Show
Nick Cannon’s relationships advice podcast is headed to BET as a late night TV talk show.
The Nick Cannon @ Night series will debut Oct. 20 with guests that include Tommy Davidson, Natalie Nunn, Dondré Whitfield, Chris “CP” Powell and Dr. Umar Johnson. The podcast, a partnership with Wondery, has seen the actor and rapper on YouTube and other platforms discuss love, sex, relationships and dating questions in front of a live audience in Los Angeles, while also including experts and celebrity guests in each episode.
The format for the BET TV show, also to be shot in Los Angeles, will see Cannon host entertainers, doctors and experts for “candid, funny conversations on love, dating, relationships, health and modern intimacy, with audience questions and real-life dilemmas driving each episode,” according to a synopsis.
“Nick Cannon @ Night is a new spin on Late Night!,” Cannon, who will also executive produce the BET series, added in his own statement. “I’m blending real advice with late-night entertainment. Grown folk conversation where we discuss and receive advice from the experts. Doctors, therapists, and scholars guide us through all things pertaining to our culture and mental wellness journeys. Bringing humor and curiosity as we open up the phone lines and DMs, exploring questions that people think about privately but rarely discuss out loud! The show has grown to be much more than just a successful podcast, so I am super excited to partner with my BET Family to expand the brand by bringing it to their programming.”
Cannon comes by his relationships advice after becoming a father of 12 with six different women, and having his relationships in the media eye.
Cannon shares twins with ex-wife Mariah Carey, two sons and a daughter with Brittany Bell, twins and a daughter with Abby De La Rosa, a son with Bre Tiesi, a daughter with LaNisha Cole and a daughter with Alyssa Scott. He and Scott also had a son who died at five months old in 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
The BET conversation series hosted by the comedian-producer will run over 10 episodes on Tuesday nights. His TV credits include Cannon executive producing and hosting Fox’s The Masked Singer and Fox’s Lego Masters.
He is also the host and executive producer of We Playin’ Spades, a weekly card-playing podcast on Wondery, and saw another podcast, Counsel Culture, premiere on Prime Video in 2024. Cannon is also the creator and executive producer of Nick Cannon’s Big Drive, a streaming show on Tubi and of the sketch comedy show Wild ‘N Out.
