Wait, Huang Zitao is a dad? Former EXO star’s sunset family photos have fans talking

BEIJING, Oct 16 — Chinese singers Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang announced yesterday that they have become parents.

Yiyang posted multiple photos on Weibo of her on vacation with the 33-year-old former Exo member as well as her friends.

Two of the photos show a silhouette believed to be of Zitao and the 29-year-old holding hands with a toddler as they watch the sunset on a beach together.

She wrote in the caption of her post: “With the sunset spreading across the sea, those whom I love are all by my side.”

The photos seem to confirm speculations that have emerged on Chinese social media since 2024 after the couple confirmed their relationship in respective Weibo posts that July.

In August 2024, a netizen claimed they saw Zitao and Yiyang going for a prenatal checkup at a hospital in the United States.

That same month, Zitao’s marriage proposal to Yiyang was aired in an episode of Chinese variety show Dare or Not.

They registered their marriage in December 2024 and Yiyang was spotted by Chinese paparazzi shopping for a baby cot that month.

In June 2025, Yiyang’s mother was also seen by Chinese paparazzi carrying a baby home.

As rumours spread on Chinese social media that the child was born through surrogacy — which is illegal in China — the couple’s agency released a statement then, saying they did not commit any unlawful acts.

They also condemned the paparazzi for snooping on Yiyang’s mother, adding that it is a violation of privacy.

Netizens pointed out then that the statement did not deny the possibility of the baby being their child.

When Zitao and Yiyang held their wedding reception in October 2025, Chinese paparazzi alleged that a toddler, believed to be their son, was also present at the wedding. — AsiaOne
