Coronation Street confirms huge showdown as Shona finally confronts Jodie
Coronation Street has confirmed that a huge showdown will take place, with Shona Platt finally confronting her villainous half-sister Jodie Ramsey. As the latter's schemes are exposed, what tips Shona over the edge?
Jodie has been a menace since arriving in Weatherfield earlier this year, with several people falling victim to her actions. Shona is no stranger to that, though she hasn't always been aware of what her half-sister has been up to.

Jodie has long had eyes for Shona's husband David, and has recently attempted to drive a wedge between the pair. In a bid to make Shona seem like a poor mother, Jodie has gone to extreme lengths.
This will come to a head in an upcoming scene, which has been previewed in a teaser video. The clip sees Jodie attempt to work her charm on David, with the villain believing that she is due some happiness in her life.
She boldly claims that David needs somebody who will treat him right, but Shona walks in at the crucial moment. The siblings face off, with Shona telling Jodie to leave her husband alone before she threatens to drag her away.
With Jodie making her boldest move yet, and with Shona catching a full glimpse of what her half-sister is capable of, it looks extremely likely that the pair will be at loggerheads over the course of the next few weeks.
The press release has teased that upcoming scenes will depict the emotional fallout, betrayal and intense confrontations, but it remains to be seen if the family can resolve the whole matter amicably.
"Jodie has convinced herself that David symbolises her potential for future happiness," said Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie. "She's lost the plot a little bit, and truly believes that David is the answer to all her wants and needs."
"When pushed, you just don't know what Jodie's capable of. She has a lot of dark secrets and has a genuinely sinister side to her," added the star, who first played the character in the Corriedale special.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
