Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Scott McTominay will be part of his matchday squad for Napoli’s upcoming Serie A match against Frosinone on Saturday evening, just over a month since the Scotland international had a surgical procedure carried out on his heart.
McTominay back and available for Napoli after heart procedure
McTominay has not featured for Napoli since August 30 in a 2-1 Serie A defeat against Como. He had been diagnosed with a mild, benign arrhythmia, which required a minor operation to amend.

That procedure was carried out at the Spire hospital in Manchester on September 8 and the midfielder then required a full fortnight of complete rest.
He was only given the all-clear to resume full training with Napoli on Wednesday, but Allegri has confirmed that he has seen enough to include McTominay in his matchday squad for Saturday’s match against Frosinone.
McTominay will not start, but could feature for 20-30 minutes off the bench, Allegri has confirmed.
“The news is that McTominay will be called up and we will have him available for at least 20-30 minutes,” Allegri confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Napoli still have injuries to several other key players, though, including the likes of Antonio Vergara and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
“Right now, we’ve lost Vergara and Favasuli for a longer period, but Olivera should be okay within a week. Anguissa is recovering. We’ve got Marianucci coming back in as well as Badiashile, who has come on a lot, so I’m not worried.”
