Kenya Power Announces Planned Power Maintenance in Several Counties on September 28

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance that will affect parts of Nairobi, Nandi, Vihiga, Migori, Nyeri and Kirinyaga counties on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The planned interruptions will take place at different times depending on the affected areas, with customers advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.

Nairobi Region

Oloitoktok Road and Riara

The outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Oloitoktok Road, parts of Gitanga Road, Mararo, parts of Argwings Kodhek Road, Ole Dume Road, Riara Road, Makindi Road, parts of Ngong Road, parts of Joseph Kangethe Road and parts of Jamhuri Estate, alongside adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

Nandi County – Tinderet Tea Factory

The interruption will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Chepkemel, Tinderet Tea Factory and Mbogo Valley, alongside adjacent customers.

Western Region

Vihiga County – Mudete

The outage is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Evojo, Mudete, Lososi, Lusengeli and Kaimosi Sawmill, alongside adjacent customers.

South Nyanza Region

Migori County – Kiamokebe and Nyamaranya

The interruption will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Kiamokebe Centre, Gokeharaka, Ntisinye, Ngugu, Nyamaranya and parts of Isebania, alongside adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya Region

Nyeri County – Muthinga, Gititu and Mung’aria

The outage will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Sagana Falls Local Transformer, Ihigaini, Gakoe Coffee Factory, Mung’aria Coffee Factory, Kaigonde, Kangubiri Senior School, parts of Kanderendu, parts of Muthinga, Kanyi Transformer and Gititu Market Dispensary, alongside adjacent customers.

Nyeri County – Sasini and KWS Offices

The interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Lady of Lourdes, Embassy, Njengu, Baraka Estate and Eunice Academy, alongside adjacent customers.

Kirinyaga County – Kangaita and Karaini

The outage will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Kangaita Tea Factory, Old Kangaita Market, Kiranja Junction, Kiamwangi, Mutuma and Kamuruana, alongside adjacent customers.
