Kaizer Chiefs legend sends message to Pirates star Camren Dansin

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo has encouraged Orlando Pirates midfielder Camren Dansin to keep performing after missing out on the Bafana Bafana call-up.

The 21-year-old midfielder was named in the Bafana preliminary squad but failed to make the final cut.

The Pirates youth product has looked good this season for the Buccaneers under Abdeslam Ouaddou. He started in the club’s first three games but recently, he found himself starting from the bench.

Dansin impresses for Pirates

“Preliminary, it’s a hope that ‘oh, I was selected’,” said Khumalo on The DNA Podcast.

“Hence, I’m saying it doesn’t mean that you’re not part of the 30, you’re out and out, outright.

Khumalo said he was encouraged by new Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane calling up youngsters. He feels there’s space for Dansin to get into the team in the coming months.

“I mean, Dansin, the young boy from Orlando Pirates, Pitso is talking to us to say these are youngsters that we need to groom.

“Just to show that boys, you are part of my journey you are part of the preliminary squad.

“But because I’m going to my first war, let me take the experienced soldiers but I haven’t forgotten about you boy, you see.”

Dansin made his debut for Orlando Pirates last season but only played five matches for the Soweto giants. His goal against Mamelodi Sundowns was voted Goal of the Season.
