#SHOWBIZ: Possible cancellation? BigBang Singapore concerts face haze advisory ahead of sold-out shows

SINGAPORE: Concert organisers AEG Presents Asia have issued a haze advisory for BigBang's highly anticipated XX: Cosmos shows in Singapore this weekend, as rising PM2.5 levels continue to affect air quality across the island.

The K-pop powerhouse trio of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung are scheduled to perform at the National Stadium on Saturday and Sunday (Oct 17 and 18) in what is slated to be one of the region's largest live spectacles of the year.

In a public notice released yesterday (Oct 15), the live events company urged concert-goers to take proactive safety precautions, CNA reported.

Fans heading to the venue have been advised to monitor real-time air quality reports, wear protective masks if sensitive to haze, stay hydrated, and carry personal medication if necessary.

Refillable water containers are permitted inside the stadium, but glass and stainless steel bottles remain strictly prohibited.

"As haze conditions may affect outdoor activities, measures are in place under the venue's haze management policy to ensure your safety and well-being," the organiser stated, adding that attendees should minimise prolonged time spent outdoors and seek immediate medical assistance if feeling unwell.

The venue operator, The Kallang, confirmed that under its haze management policy, it will suspend all indoor and outdoor activities if the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) crosses the critical 300 mark. Operations at its Water Sports Centre have already been temporarily halted due to reduced visibility.

Despite the environmental concerns, BigBang fever remains at an all-time high, with fans flocking into Singapore from across the region.

A dedicated pop-up store is open at Kallang Wave Mall until Oct 25, alongside special K-pop light shows at Marina Bay Sands throughout the weekend.
