Star Wars: The Mandalorian Officially Returns September 30

The Mandalorian is one of the highest-rated Star Wars releases of the modern era, introducing new fan-favorite characters Din Djarin and Grogu to the world and quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon. Since debuting in 2019, the Disney+ series has helped redefine what Star Wars can look like on television, while expanding the franchise with new worlds, allies, enemies, and connections to the wider galaxy far, far away.

Although the show's third season concluded more than three years ago, Din and Grogu have remained two of the franchise's most beloved characters, with their story continuing on the big screen in The Mandalorian and Grogu. With the film now behind us, fans are instead looking ahead and wondering what comes next for Din Djarin and Grogu on television. Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to confirm whether The Mandalorian will return for a fourth season, leaving the future of the hit Disney+ series uncertain.

Fortunately, fans won't have to wait for another television announcement to see the characters make their next official return. A brand-new Mandalorian adventure is arriving on September 30, bringing Din Djarin, Grogu, and several other familiar faces back into the spotlight in an unexpected new release.

The Mandalorian is officially returning on September 30 as part of the 2026 Topps Chrome Star Wars collection (via Collider), and the release could be one of the most exciting sets yet for fans of Din Djarin and Grogu. Topps' latest flagship Star Wars collection features a 200-card base set spanning the larger franchise, but The Mandalorian and Grogu is getting a substantial lineup following the movie's theatrical release earlier this year.

That includes separate Mandalorian and Grogu Character and Moment inserts highlighting the movie's heroes, villains, and memorable scenes. Din Djarin and Grogu also appear throughout the wider collection, with Grogu notably joining adorable franchise characters like Ewoks and Porgs in the new 15-card Galaxy's Cutest insert. The Chrome format gives collectors plenty of rarer variations to hunt as well, with the parallel structure extending to numbered cards and coveted one-of-one SuperFractors.

The biggest draw, however, may be the autographed cards, which includes Stephen McKinley Henderson's Gatori among five newly shown signature cards, while the complete Mandalorian and Grogu autograph checklist is stacked. Pedro Pascal signs as the Mandalorian, Jeremy Allen White appears as Rotta the Hutt, Steve Blum is on as Zeb Orrelios, Henderson signs as Gatori, and Jonny Coyne appears as Lord Janu.

Those aren't the only major signatures in the overall release, either, with Topps saying the collection includes more than 180 autograph signers, with names including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Ewan McGregor, Diego Luna, and others from across Star Wars. Hobby boxes contain 10 packs of 10 cards and one autograph per box, giving buyers a guaranteed signature while leaving plenty of uncertainty over exactly whose autograph they will pull.

For dedicated Mando fans, September 30 is a big day, and it's one of Star Wars' more exciting new announcements this year as the line of trading cards will keep collectors busy until the franchise returns.
