Euromatch NPFL: Rivers United Move Up To Third Spot After 2-0 Win Against Wolves

Translate

Rivers United defeated Warri Wolves 2-0 in their second Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) inside the Adokiye Amiesimaka in Port Hardourt, on Wednesday.

Goals in each half by Abdurrasheed Dabai and Chinemerem Ugwueze, secured Rivers United’s second win in the league this season.

Dabai opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as he completed a beautiful team combination to put his side ahead.

Then with 15 minutes left Ugwueze doubled the lead with a thunderous volley which flew past the Warri Wolves keeper.

Rivers United climb to third on six points while Warri Wolves are in 19th spot with zero point after two games.

Last weekend Rivers United were dumped out in the first round of the CAF Champions League by Ivorian club San-Pedro.

After holding San-Pedro to a 1-1 draw away, Rivers United played 2-2 at home to crash out on the away goals rule.
