Bangladesh to tour Nepal for three T20Is in March 2027

The matches will be played on March 26, 28 and 30 in Kathmandu.

On August 26, Nepal suffered the brunt of an avalanche in the border that they share with China on the north of the country. The resulting floods took more than 1000 lives, while more than 5000 people are reported missing.

Recently during a discussion between Bangladesh's sports minister Aminul Haque and Ghanshyam Bhandari, Nepal's ambassador in Bangladesh, there were initial talks of a cricket series. On Wednesday, Bhandari also visited the BCB where he met the president Tamim Iqbal. There was a more detailed discussion on the matter and further board level cooperation.

"The BCB expressed its sympathy for the victims of the devastating floods and recognized the significance of dedicating the series to their memory," the BCB statement said. "The three matches will provide an opportunity for Bangladesh and Nepal to come together through cricket and convey a message of friendship and solidarity at a time of great loss. The BCB also assured the Nepal Cricket Association of its continued cooperation and support in the broader development of cricket in Nepal. The areas of collaboration will include exchange of men's and women's tours, High Performance programmes, training and technical support and other development initiatives that can benefit players and cricket personnel of both countries."

Nepal and Bangladesh have only met twice, in the 2014 and 2024 T20 World Cups, with Bangladesh winning both encounters.
