Euromatch NPFL: Yusuf Savours Shooting Stars’ Win Over Katsina United

Shooting Stars technical adviser Salisu Yusuf was in a buoyant mood after guiding the Oluyole Warriors to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Katsina United in their latest NPFL fixture.

Olanrewaju Ridwan opened the scoring for the home side in the 20th minute before Qamar Adegoke sealed the victory with a second goal 18 minutes from full-time.

Morale Boosting Victory

Yusuf said the result would provide a timely boost to his team’s confidence as they prepare for their next two matches away from home.

“The points will give the team much confidence going into the next game. We have two games away, so I think it is a good morale booster for the team,” Yusuf said during his post-match reaction.

Yusuf Lauds Players

The experienced coach also praised his players for responding positively to the lessons from their previous defeat to Plateau United.

“You know, in the team-building process, you keep correcting mistakes every game. I’m very happy that the mistakes we corrected in the previous game against Plateau United yielded a positive result, discipline-wise and tactically,”Yusuf said.

“That is why our opponent couldn’t create any chance against us. This is a good omen for the team.”

Shooting Stars Target Continental Ticket

Yusuf reiterated Shooting Stars’ ambition of securing continental football at the end of the season, expressing confidence in the quality within his squad.

“The target is to get a continental ticket, which I believe we have the team to do,” added Yusuf.

“We will keep learning and keep balancing the team as the season progresses. We are highly optimistic that we will get the continental ticket at the end of the season.”
