Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce established in Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Business leaders from Hangzhou, China, have officially declared the establishment of the Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia to facilitate business partnerships and expand economic cooperation between Indonesia and China.
Chairman of the Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia Ye Daifeng said the organization was established as a platform for Hangzhou entrepreneurs seeking to expand their businesses in Indonesia, as well as Indonesian entrepreneurs looking to explore the Chinese market.
“The Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia has set two main roles, to serve as a common home for its members and as a bridge for cooperation between Indonesia and China,” Ye said at the organization's declaration dinner in Jakarta on Thursday evening.
Ye explained that several companies from Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province in eastern China, have strengths in the digital economy, smart manufacturing, and creative industries.
He said Hangzhou's industrial and entrepreneurial strengths offered considerable potential for cooperation with Indonesia, which has a large market and diverse business opportunities.
He stressed that Hangzhou entrepreneurs operating in Indonesia were committed to complying with national regulations and maintaining good relations with local communities.
“Good opportunities can only be seized by those who are prepared, understand the rules, and consistently uphold integrity in doing business,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesia-China Economic, Social, and Cultural Cooperation Agency, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Sudrajat, emphasized the importance of the Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce as a platform for connecting Indonesian and Chinese entrepreneurs.
The former Indonesian Ambassador to China said business partnerships were one of the key pillars of Indonesia-China relations, which had developed into a comprehensive strategic partnership.
He expressed hope that the relationship would continue to be strengthened through economic cooperation that delivers sustainable benefits to both countries.
“The Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia is expected to be a bridge for entrepreneurs, both from China and Indonesia, as well as a common home for expanding business networks and developing economic cooperation,” Sudrajat said.
According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to China reached US$54.17 billion during the January-September 2026 period.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's imports from China during the same period totaled US$76.16 billion. Trade between the two countries is dominated by commodities including nickel, vegetable oils, machinery and electronic equipment, and plastics.
