Sharon Horgan made sure to dress to impress as she posed up a storm for the New York premiere of Youth on Thursday evening.

The actress, 56, turned up the heat in a sheer black lace long-sleeved dress.

Wearing a sheer bra underneath and black underwear, the star completed the look with diamond drop earrings as she posed for snaps on the red carpet.

Sharon is the creator and executive producer of HBO's new major series which she also stars in alongside Rupert Friend, Robbie Gee and Cillian Murphy's son Aran.

The romantic comedy series sees her play Alex and follows 'a 50-year-old divorcee’s search for sex and love whilst juggling caring for her ailing parents and parenting her should-be grown up son'.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the series, she told the Radio Times that the idea has been bubbling for about seven years.

She explained: 'So really, I was kind of hitting 50 then, and divorced and beginning to be out there again, and thinking that's an interesting time to join a woman's life when so many things are changing.

'And thinking that she has this time, this freedom, and then finding out that she doesn't because her parents are getting older and need her, and her son isn't ready to move out of home, and it just felt like a really ripe world for comedy and storytelling.

'And then the literary agency bit came along much later, because I had to think of a workplace for her.'

Last week fans were left shocked after seeing Cillian Murphy's son Aran at a London screening of the series which launches on September 20.

Aran looked the spitting image of his Hollywood star dad as he follows in his dad's footsteps with a part in the highly anticipated new drama.

Aran is set to appear as Ruairi, a troubled and emotionally unravelling teenage son who gets easily sucked into dodgy social media trends.

Last Friday, the actor was joined by his co-stars on the red carpet in London for a screening of their new show.

Snaps from the event went viral on social media, with users amazed by Aran's striking resemblance to Cillian after seeing him on the red carpet.

They commented: 'It's too similar! My gosh!'

'Literally copy and paste Cillian to a T!!!'; 'He is more Cillian than Cillian himself,'

'Just copy of Cillian Murphy; they're so similar'; 'Copy n paste version of his dad',

'I thought that was young him'; 'Oh my God, they cloned him!'; 'No DNA test needed with this one'.

Aran may be young but he has already built up a strong portfolio in both film and TV.

Earlier this year, he featured in director Taika Waititi's highly anticipated sci-fi literary adaptation Klara and the Sun alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

Last year he joined the cast of WAR, a HBO and Sky co-production which featured Dominic West and Sienna Miller

Aran made his formal feature film debut in Andrew Legge's critically acclaimed indie sci-fi mystery Lola in 2022.

The rising star also has friends in high places, with Taylor Swift even recalling meeting the actor and his older brother during awards season.
