Entertainment news website Variety reported on Monday that Ye-in Jeong, a member of K-pop girl group LOVELYZ, will join the cast of webtoon-based live-action series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call for its upcoming second and third seasons. She will play nurse Jang-mi Cheon, replacing Ha-young, who left the series following controversy over allegations that her great-grandfather collaborated with Japanese colonial authorities.

Jeong joins returning cast members Ji-Hoon Ju as surgeon Kang-hyuk Baek, Young-woo Choo as Jae-won Yang, Kyung-ho Yoon as Yu-rim Han, and Jae-kwang Jeong as anesthesiologist Gyeong-won Park. Do-yun lee, who directed the first season, will return as director and screenwriter.

Both seasons are in production and will stream exclusively on Netflix. The streamer has not announced premiere dates.

The eight-episode first season of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call debuted worldwide in January 2025 and became a breakout hit, topping Netflix's global non-English TV show rankings and sparking strong demand for a sequel. The series is based on the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour, written by Han Sani, who is himself an ENT doctor.

The webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour is available in English on WEBTOON. The English version recently ended with an epilogue chapter on August 9.
