BELIFT LAB takes legal action vs alleged stalker of ENHYPEN’s Jay

K-pop agency BELIFT LAB filed a criminal complaint against an alleged stalker who allegedly targeted ENHYPEN member Jay, according to a statement posted on Weverse Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The agency said the unnamed individual harassed the 24-year-old singer repeatedly and illegally posted recorded private phone calls online. They pledged to protect the artist months after severe privacy violations.

“The perpetrator attempted to induce the artist to provide personal information by mentioning family members, but the artist grew suspicious, checked directly with his family, and confirmed that the person was lying,” the agency stated.
Jay stopped answering the calls, but the suspect continued reaching out. The individual illegally recorded their conversations and distributed the audio files online across KakaoTalk, Instagram, and X Spaces.
Fans soon confronted the stalker on social media. The individual tried to dismiss the calls as work-related and alleged account hacking before deleting all profiles.
BELIFT LAB emphasized that the harassment caused Jay significant psychological distress and anxiety.

“We take this incident extremely seriously, as it constitutes not only an invasion of the artist’s privacy but also raises concerns about further harm resulting from the disclosure of personal information,” the agency noted.
To track down the perpetrator, BELIFT LAB asked South Korea’s top three telecommunications companies to verify the suspect’s identity. The company reaffirmed its firm stance against violating artist rights.

BELIFT LAB clearly states that it will respond strongly under a zero-tolerance policy, without any settlement or leniency, toward stalking and illegal personal information leakage behaviors that threaten our artists’ physical safety, the statement read.
The agency thanked ENHYPEN’s fandom, ENGENE, for submitting crucial evidence through HYBE’s official legal reporting portal to support BELIFT LAB’s legal action for ENHYPEN’s Jay.
