Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger director responds to 'missing' moment

Dylan Southern, one of the directors of Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger, has explained why the documentary doesn't feature the moment that people were expecting to see from it the most.
The film is out today on Disney+ after doing big numbers at the box office, and at a premiere event at London’s Abbey Road Studios, Southern told host Edith Bowman why we don't see Liam and Noel Gallagher making up after their infamous falling out and decades-long feud.
"A lot of people having watched the film have been like, 'Why didn’t we get to see the machinations of how they got back together?'" he said.

"But literally, they didn't sit down and have a heart-to-heart and go, 'You said this, you did that'.
"They walked back into a room together, and we filmed it, and they started, and Oasis was back."
Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight, who wrote the film, said the low-key moment of both their reunion and the way they dealt with seeing all the fans was reflective of where the brothers came from.
"Noel... when he first went out there, couldn't look at the audience because he was becoming really emotional," Knight explained.
"He says it – 'I had to turn my back because I saw all of these reunions happening' – and that really registered with him. I think what's important about all this is that we're talking about unemotional English working-class folks.
"These are people who are not going to [express emotion] for fun. This is happening in spite of it, and that makes it more powerful."

"I think the remarkable thing about the film is you see that thawing happen across the gigs," Southern added.
"It wasn't happening backstage, it wasn’t happening in rehearsals – it was happening live on stage every night, and Noel and Liam really got closer on stage."
As well as the documentary getting added to Disney+, the streamer also has added some extra footage from the film, a handful of unseen performances, and some classic Oasis content.
