Beau Lamarre-Condon told friend if he killed anyone he’d dump belongings in bin and take bodies to bushland, court hears

A Sydney police officer told a friend he would hide the bodies of anyone he killed in bushland and put their belongings in a dumpster, months before allegedly murdering Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, a court has been told.

Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, has been accused of fatally shooting the couple with a police service weapon in Baird’s Paddington home on 19 February 2024.

He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one charge of aggravated break and enter.

At his double murder trial on Monday, Georgia Cook, a close friend of Lamarre-Condon, told the NSW supreme court about a dinner in May 2023.

The brief relationship between Baird and Lamarre-Condon had ended when the accused asked her what she would do if he told her he’d killed someone, Cook told the jury.

He then asked what she would do if she killed someone and what she would do with their bodies, the court heard. Cook responded she had no idea.

She said on Monday that Lamarre-Condon replied: “After I’d killed them I would take their stuff, I would put it in a dumpster, and I would take their bodies in bushland where nobody would ever find them.”

Asked about her response, Cook said the situation in 2023 felt “very surreal”.

“I didn’t know whether to believe anything I’d heard, or whether it was true,” she told the jury.

“Hearing a person of power in the police force [say that] – it felt like I didn’t have anywhere to go and I was really scared by what I had heard.”

After Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot Baird and Davies in February 2024, he dumped Baird’s bloodied belongings and furniture into a skip bin in Cronulla, the prosecution said during its opening statement last week.

The two bodies were found on the fence line of a Greek orthodox monastery in remote bushland in Bungonia – about 200km from Paddington.

Cook on Friday told the court that Lamarre-Condon told her he had been watching Baird from outside his home. The crown alleged in its opening that the police officer began planning to murder Baird in early 2024.

The defence team has claimed he was acting in self-defence after he disguised himself as an UberEats rider and entered Baird’s home on the day of the shootings.
