Scott Eastwood stars in a crime thriller that is now seeing enormous success on Prime Video internationally a couple of years after its original release. The actor knows the genre well, as Eastwood's list of movies includes quite a few action thrillers. Among those is one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, as Eastwood joined the Fast & Furious movies as Little Nobody, appearing in two films so far, The Fate of the Furious and Fast X. Eastwood also has action-packed movies like Jason Statham's Wrath of Man, the sci-fi Pacific Rim Uprising, DC's Suicide Squad, and more on his resume.

In the last couple of years, the actor starred in Regretting You, the Colleen Hoover novel adaptation that went on to become a big theatrical hit and a streaming sensation. In 2026, Eastwood continued his long history of action thrillers with the lead role in Lucky Strike, a war movie following Eastwood as Captain John Castle, a soldier trapped behind enemy lines during World War II. Now, Eastwood is seeing the resurgence of his 2024 R-rated crime thriller, 1992, which also features his Fast & Furious franchise co-star Tyrese Gibson. 1992 has become a major streaming hit on Prime Video in certain countries.

Eastwood's 1992 Is Swiftly Making Its Way Up Prime Video's Top 10

At the time of writing, 1992 has become the 6th most-watched movie on Prime Video worldwide, according to data from FlixPatrol. The R-rated crime thriller has resurged to take over the streaming service's global charts, having first landed on 10th on Thursday, October 8, before climbing to its current spot on the following day. Eastwood's 1992 has left behind movies like the Gal Gadot Prime Video original action thriller The Runner, Ralph Fiennes' The Odyssey adaptation The Return, the heist/magic movie Now You See Me: Now You Don't, Ryan Gosling's sci-fi masterpiece Project Hail Mary, and more on Prime Video.

At the top of the Prime Video global Top 10 Movies chart is the romance novel adaptation The Love Hypothesis, which has been leading the streaming service for some time now. According to FlixPatrol's streaming report, 1992 is currently trending on Prime Video in 14 countries, including nations like Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, and more. 1992 is not available to stream on Prime Video in the United States. Instead, the Lionsgate movie can be streamed on Starz in the US. At the time of writing, according to Starz's Top 10, Eastwood also stars on the streamer's 2nd most-watched movie, Alarum, another crime thriller.

The Film Quietly Became An Audience Favorite

1992 had a tame box office run, bringing in $2.9 million (via Box Office Mojo). However, the R-rated crime thriller has gone on to become a fan-favorite release. On Rotten Tomatoes, 1992 stands at a stellar 88% audience score. This makes the crime thriller the 3rd highest audience score for Eastwood, only sitting below Gran Torino, which was both directed and starred by the actor's father, Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, and Jason Statham's Wrath of Man, at an Eastwood-best 90% audience score. As such, over the years, fan sentiment around Eastwood's 1992 has only gotten warmer.
