Newcastle have joined Juventus and Roma in tracking Sporting midfielder Issa Doumbia, just months after his move to Portugal.
As noted by Tuttomercatoweb, A Bola splashed the story across its front page today under the headline “Doumbia coveted”. The Portuguese paper names Juventus and Newcastle as the leading suitors and confirms that Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma are also admirers. Newcastle are not the only Premier League club watching him either.

Doumbia’s rapid rise from Venezia to Italy
It has been a remarkable rise for the 23-year-old. Venezia signed him for just €1m, and he scored eight goals and provided six assists as they won promotion to Serie A last season.
Sporting then paid €20m plus €6m in add-ons, handing him a contract until 2031 with an €80m release clause that becomes active next July.

He has since made his first Italy start, against Turkiye, and scored his first Champions League goal in Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Lens.
Milan and Napoli have already missed out. Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare tried to sign him for the Rossoneri in April, and Allegri later attempted to take him to Napoli, but ran out of time.
