Eagles All-Pro RT Johnson retires to 'focus on my mental health'

Translate

Philadelphia Eagles two-time All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement Tuesday, ending a 14-year career spent entirely in Philadelphia.

Johnson, 36, who is considered one of the top offensive tackles in the NFL, was a surprise inactive on Sunday with the Eagles saying it was for personal reasons.

A two-time Super Bowl champion, Johnson has made the Pro Bowl six times in his career.

He missed four training camp practices this summer for personal reasons and had announced upon his return that this would likely be his last season in the NFL.
