Traders across the 34 local government areas of Katsina State have endorsed Governor Dikko Radda and President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027, citing development projects and support for businesses under their administrations.

The endorsement was announced on Thursday in Katsina, where the Katsina State Traders’ Association pledged to mobilise its members across the state to support the two leaders.

Speaking at the event, Radda thanked the traders for their confidence and continued support since his administration assumed office in 2023.

Radda, who spoke on behalf of himself and Tinubu, said the endorsement demonstrated the business community’s confidence in the policies and programmes of the two administrations.

“We appreciate this confidence and support. It is an indication that our efforts to improve the economy, support businesses and create opportunities for our people are being recognised,” the governor said.

He assured the traders that his administration would continue to strengthen support for businesses and expand economic opportunities across the state.

“We will continue to work with the business community because traders are an important part of our economy. Our goal is to ensure that government policies translate into real opportunities, stronger businesses and improved livelihoods for our people,” Radda stated.

Earlier, Chairman of the Katsina State Traders’ Association, Alhaji Lamis Dan-Maliki, said the endorsement followed the association’s assessment of the performance of Radda and Tinubu, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and support for businesses.

“We are satisfied with the leadership of Governor Dikko Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially with the development projects being implemented and the support extended to the business community,” Dan-Maliki said.

He said the association had resolved to mobilise traders across the 34 local government areas to support the re-election of Radda and Tinubu in 2027.

According to him, the decision was also aimed at ensuring continuity of government programmes and policies from which traders and other residents were benefiting.

Dan-Maliki further pledged the association’s support for candidates fielded by the All Progressives Congress at various levels, describing the traders as committed supporters of the party.
