Amazon Leo to expand Can Marine’s managed maritime connectivity offering through the Canopus™ Platform
Singapore--(ANTARA/Business Wire)--Can Marine Systems Pte Ltd today announced it has signed an agreement as an authorized reseller for Amazon Leo, Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite constellation designed to bring fast, reliable connectivity to those beyond the reach of traditional networks. As an authorized reseller, Can Marine will deliver Amazon Leo connectivity through its Canopus™ Platform as part of its managed maritime connectivity and onboard IT services.

The Canopus™ Platform gives fleets a consistent way to manage connectivity as network options change. It brings satellite and cellular services together with onboard network policies, crew access controls and remote management. Can Marine remains the customer’s service partner from network design and installation through to ongoing support.

The agreement builds on Can Marine’s established satellite communications and marine systems integration business serving Asia-Pacific merchant shipping and offshore energy customers and their global fleets.

“Fleets should be able to adopt better connectivity without taking on more complexity onboard,” said Lim Ding Liang, Director of Can Marine Systems Pte Ltd. “Our role is to make new networks work within the way our customers operate their vessels. Amazon Leo will broaden what we can deliver through the Canopus™ Platform, with Can Marine accountable for the service.”

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite constellation with a mission to bring fast, reliable internet to those beyond the reach of traditional networks. Amazon Leo is powered by an initial constellation of more than 3,000 satellites, connected to a secure, global network of ground gateway antennas and dedicated fiber, and includes a lineup of compact, high-performance antennas—Leo Pro and Leo Ultra.
