Meghann Fahy Set For Limited Series ‘Smokeshow’ From SK Global, David E. Kelley

EXCLUSIVE: Meghann Fahy, the two-time Emmy-nominated star of Sirens and The White Lotus, has inked a deal to star in Smokeshow, a new limited series based on the upcoming novel by Catriona Stewart, which has landed with SK Global and David E. Kelley Productions following a highly competitive bidding war.

The package is set to hit the market in the coming weeks, with a select round of pitches being scheduled with buyers.

Part thriller, part dark romantic comedy, Smokeshow centers on a covert operative, Rory (Fahy), who becomes entangled with her target, the charming and devastatingly earnest Nolan. Rory must then choose between the life she’s known and the chance to break free.

The novel marks the first stateside release from Stewart, who as a communications strategist based in San Francisco, has spent over a decade advising some of the most prominent figures in California politics.

Sweetpea‘s Kirstie Swain is adapting from Stewart’s novel, which will be published by Random House next summer.

Fahy is producing alongside Kelley, Matthew Tinker and Shelby Leshine for David E. Kelley Productions. SK Global’s Head of Television, Chloe Dan, and Trish Esselen are overseeing for the studio.

Smokeshow marks the second limited series starring Fahy that we’ve scooped in recent months, following The Trial of Louise Woodward at HBO. Her upcoming slate includes Peacock series The Good Daughter, where she stars opposite Rose Byrne and Amazon MGM’s rom-com You Deserve Each Other, which she leads with Penn Badgley. She is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Swain is the BAFTA nominee who created, writes and exec produces Sweetpea, the dark comedy based on CJ Skuse’s novel, which is set to air its second season with Sky and Starz in early 2027. She also wrote the dramas Pure, Run and Clique, and is repped by UTA and Lark.

SK Global’s recent projects include The Season, Thai Cave Rescue, Delhi Crime, and the documentary Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg.

Hit-makerDavid E. Kelley Productions is coming off of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, the Elle Fanning-led young motherhood dramedy that recently scored eight Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, with three wins. Other new series to come include Myron Bolitar for Netflix and Not a Sound, starring Ellen Pompeo, for Hulu. Kelley is repped by CAA and Gendler, Kelly and Cunningham.
