The Multimedia Group’s anti-galamsey campaign, Galamsey Fight (#NoToGalamsey), has won the New Media Campaign Award at the 37th Annual National Marketing Performance Awards.

The award, presented by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), was announced in a letter to the Multimedia Group. The ceremony took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

CIMG recognised the campaign for its ability to communicate its message effectively, appeal to its audience and make a positive impact on society. The institute also commended the ethical execution of its informative and educational content.

The recognition highlights the role of media-led advocacy in drawing public attention to illegal mining and its effects on Ghana’s environment and communities.

The Multimedia Group has used its radio, television and digital platforms to raise awareness of the environmental, social and economic consequences of illegal mining.

Through the #NoToGalamsey campaign, the media organisation has contributed to the national conversation on the destruction of forests and water bodies, while calling for accountability and stronger action against the practice.

The campaign forms part of the Group’s broader advocacy efforts to protect Ghana’s natural resources and encourage public engagement on issues of national importance.

The CIMG award adds to the campaign’s recognition of the role public-interest media initiatives can play in informing audiences and sustaining attention on pressing environmental challenges.

The Multimedia Group is expected to continue using its platforms to advocate for the protection of the country’s natural resources.
