Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari says efforts to bridge differences between Tehran and Washington are ongoing, with both sides reviewing proposals and regional countries coordinating to achieve a diplomatic solution, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported, citing Doha-based Al Jazeera television on Tuesday.

“Efforts to bridge the gap between the two sides of the crisis, the US and Iran, are still ongoing,” Ansari said at a news briefing.

He said Washington and Tehran are considering proposals presented as part of efforts to develop the conditions needed to reach an agreement.

The spokesperson added that Qatar is working closely with its regional partners and the international community to end the crisis and that regional leaders are in “very high-level coordination” to reach a solution and avoid further escalation.

Ansari said the Iranian and US sides continue to show commitment to the negotiating track, adding that Doha is working toward an agreement that can build confidence and strengthen peace in the region.
