Davide Bartesaghi has ‘a lot of faith’ in Milan and coach Ruben Amorim, singling out Mario Gila and Omari Hutchinson for praise among the summer signings.
The Rossoneri have had a stuttering start to life under Amorim, including a 2-0 home defeat to Benfica in the Europa League, but got back on track by sweeping Lecce aside 3-0 going into the break for international duty.
Bartesaghi has been struggling with injury problems, making his return to the field for 14 minutes in that game at San Siro, then playing for the Italy Under-21 side to secure European Championship qualification.

“We have a lot of faith in this team and tomorrow will be all back together after a long break, hoping to get well prepared for the games that await us,” he told reporters when attending the Premio Gentleman event in Milan.
Amorim had started using the three-man defence, but seems to have shifted to four at the back for the most recent performance, hoping to not make the same mistakes as his time with Manchester United.

“I am fine in either role on the left, whether it’s wing-back or full-back. We need to keep raising the bar, because at times we struggle, but it’s normal at the start of a new era, so we’ve got to keep working and stay concentrated.
“Amorim is a good coach, I trust him, and we keep trying out new things.”

Among the summer signings who came to San Siro, which new teammate has impressed Bartesaghi the most?
“Mario Gila is a great player, versatile, so important for our team. I also have to say Omari Hutchinson, as he’s so agile in tight spaces, and can give us a big hand this season.”
